FAQ

Curious About Hypnotherapy?
You’re not alone. Many people have questions before their first session—and that’s a good thing. Hypnotherapy is a safe, collaborative process that can support powerful change, and understanding how it works is the first step. Below are some of the most common questions I hear from new clients.
-
What is hypnotherapy?Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help access the subconscious mind. In this state, you become more open to positive suggestions and insights that support lasting behavioral and emotional change.
-
Will I lose control during hypnosis? No. You remain fully aware and in control throughout the session. Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process—you're not asleep or unconscious, and you cannot be made to do anything against your will.
-
What issues can hypnotherapy help with?Hypnotherapy can support a wide range of concerns including anxiety, stress, fears and phobias, smoking cessation, weight management, chronic pain, grief, trauma, low self-esteem, insomnia, performance enhancement (in sports, academics, or public speaking), ADHD, and habit change.
-
How many sessions will I need?It depends on your goals and the nature of the issue. Some people see meaningful results in just one to three sessions, while others benefit from deeper or ongoing work. A multi-session package allows for deeper transformation and integration over time.
-
Is hypnotherapy safe?Yes. Hypnotherapy is a safe, non-invasive, and evidence-based approach used by trained professionals. It's often used in combination with other therapeutic modalities or on its own for personal growth and emotional wellness.
-
What does a session feel like? Most people describe it as deeply relaxing—like a guided meditation with purpose. You’ll feel calm, focused, and supported as we work together to explore and reprogram subconscious patterns.
-
Can anyone be hypnotized? Most people can enter a hypnotic state if they are open, willing, and able to follow simple instructions. You don’t need to be “highly suggestible”—just open to the process.
-
Can a hypnotherapist make me do something I don't want to do?No. Hypnotherapy cannot over- ride your values or free will. Unlike stage hypnosis, therapeutic hypnosis is collaborative and emp- wering. You are always in charge of your mind and your choices.
-
What if I can't be hypnotized? Most people can be hypnotized, as long as they are open and willing to participate. Hypnosis is a a natural state we all enter every day -like when we daydream or drive on autopilot, It's not about "going under," it's about tuning in.
-
Isn't hypnotherapy only for quitting smoking or weight loss?Hypnotherapy can help with much more than that. It's effective far reducing anxiety, breaking limiting beliefs, healing trauma, building confidence, improving sleep, overcoming fears, and supporting personal transformation.
-
Will I remember what happens during the session?Yes, most people remember everything. Hypnotherapy is not about erasing memory -It's ab- out accessing deeper layers. of your subconscious to create meaningful, lasting change.
